Botox, Xeomin & Dysport- Wrinkle Relaxer
Botox and Xeomin are cosmetic injectables that are used in the treatment of wrinkles. Both Botox and Xeomin contain a purified form of botulinum toxin A. Botulinum toxin type A is a form of neurotoxin that is naturally produced by a bacteria known as Clostridium botulinum. When injected under the skin, the neurotoxin blocks neuromuscular activity. In other words, Botox and Xeomin inhibit excessive movement of your facial muscles, thus preventing wrinkles and creases.
Xeomin differs slightly from Botox in that Botox has accessory proteins, while Xeomin has no protein additives and is injected in its ‘naked’ form.
Labelle MD Esthetics offers both Botox and Xeomin in Vienna, VA. Botox and Xeomin are ideal treatments for individuals who wish to improve the appearance of wrinkles without going under the knife.
What to Expect
Dr. Lorena Popp will start by assessing your medical history to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for Botox and Xeomin wrinkle relaxer. Patients who show marked facial asymmetry or chronic skin disorders may be re-directed to other treatment options.
If you’re a suitable candidate, our doctor in Vienna, VA, will map the injection sites and then use an ultrafine needle to deliver the Botox or Xeomin wrinkle relaxer to the target sites. This process is virtually painless, and you’ll only experience a slight pinch during the injection. The entire process typically lasts 30 minutes or less, after which you’ll be free to go home.
The effects of Botox and Xeomin may be visible a few days after treatment, with results expected to peak after several weeks.
